Tread Safely Week
Tread Safely Week kicked off on September 7th to September 13th. Brought to you by the Australian Road Safety Foundation, Bob Jane T-Marts and Michellin. A national community based road safety event. Tread Safely Week has been designed to educate all road users on the important role tyre and tread plays in vehicle safety. The vision “Driving the safety of every road user, every day, to achieve a significant year-on-year reduction in road deaths and injuries nationally.” Who knows what the minimum tyre tread depth is? Not me along with 60% of you!
‘Tread Safely Week aims to reduce road incidents caused by worn, unsafe tyres by educating ALL Australian road users on the important role tyres play in vehicle safety.’

When I was invited to Bob Jane T-Marts Ladies Luncheon to learn tips and tricks to keep myself and loved ones safe on the road, how could I say no! The event took place in the stunning Greenfields located in Albert Park. A delicious three course lunch with mocktails and a fabulous bunch of women, was the perfect setting to learn the importance of tyre safety. With tyres looking ever so pretty in fresh florals, fun artwork, a quick tyre change competition and fabulous speakers.
I will admit I have never changed a tyre. I don’t even think I know where the jack is in our car! All “car stuff” I leave to my husband! However it is just as important for us women to know how to keep ourselves safe on the road. I learnt we should be checking our tyres weekly if not fortnightly! Let me tell you I definitely do not remember the last time I checked mine! So I definitely picked up a few little tips and tricks. The Bob Jane T-marts tyre tread checker has already made its place on my key ring.
Along with Tread Safely Week is a great initiative Tyre Check Tuesday. All we have to do is take couple of minutes on the first Tuesday of each month to check tyre pressure and tread. To make it easy easier so you don’t forget you can actually sign up to receive a free SMS reminder from Bob Jane T-marts
